60″ Shon Hardin Cue Review

I recently purchased a 60″ cue from Shon Hardin and I wanted to review it here. Shon lives in Arkansas and is making a quite a name for himself in the custom cue world. So, here are my thoughts on one of his cues.
Specs:
Clara Walnut Burl forearm & butt sleeve and a segmented Curly Maple handle with copper ringwork. Kielwood shaft.
Butt: 30″ – 14.9oz – .844″ at the joint – 1.25″ at the end of the butt.
Shaft: 30″ – 3.3oz – 12.35mm
Tip: Victory
Pin: 3/8-10
Fit and Finish:
They are great! The combination of the woods work wonderfully together. The copper rings blend the two woods effortlessly.
Performance:
I’m by no means a great pool player, but I know when a cue feels good to me and can perform. This cue hits as good as it looks. It has crisp hit, probably due to the butt being cored with a solid piece of Jatoba wood. I doubt anyone can out perform what this cue is capable of.
Final Thoughts:
I don’t believe you could go wrong with a Shon Hardin cue. He has an eye for making beautiful cues which not every cuebuilder has. I believe aesthetics are very important to custom cues. Plus, this cue performs exceptionally well. It does more than look pretty.
Shon is also a standup guy who backs his cues. He’s also very easy to work with. I see his cues continuing to gain popularity in the future and rightfully so!
